Announced
The Lord's
Taverners have announced their squad to face Windsor
Cricket Club in the FM Global Lord's Taverners game to be
played on July 23rd at the Home Park Windsor.
Skippered by Former England International they include
former England Players Jack Russell, Syd Lawrence and
Graham Roope as well as TV stars Chris Tarrant, Coronation
Streets Charles Lawson (Jim Macdonald) and also count
Charity Marathon runner Lloyd Scott (of London Marathon
Diver and St George fame) amongst their number.

Match Manager: Mike Rafter - Former Bristol and
England Rugby Union star Captain: Mike Gatting -
Prolific former England and Middlesex batsmen, he
captained the England team in 23 test matches including
captaining a winning Ashes team in Australia in 1986/87.
Jack Russell - Former England Wicket Keeper he
played in 54 tests for England top scoring with 129
against South Africa. A legendary keeper he took
1192 first class catches. Now a renowned artists a
print from one his his works will be auctioned at the
game. Syd Lawrence - Massively powerful fast
bowler for Gloucestershire and England, a horrifying knee
injury during a game in New Zealand curtailed his
international career. Graham Roope - Played in 21
tests and 8 ODI internationals for England in the 1970's.
Colin Salmon - English Actor best known for his
portrayal of the fictional character Charles Robinson in
three recent James Bond films. Was rumoured to take
over the role vacated by Pierce Brosnan. Chris
Tarrant - TV and Radio presenter best known for
hosting the television show Who wants to be a
millionaire? Shot to fame in Tiswas and
has been awarded an OBE. Charles Lawson - Known
by millions as Jim Macdonald from Coronation Street this
Northern Irish actor has also appeared in Doctors,
Bread and The Bill. Chris White -
International class Rugby Union referee. Refereed
the World Cup Semi Final between Australia and New Zealand
and would have officiated in the final had England not
qualified. Lloyd Scott - A charity fundraiser
best known in the UK for to his charity marathons. He is
famous for competing in the 2002 London marathon in a
deep-dea diving costume during which he broke the world
record for slowest marathon time. He has raised more
then £4,000,000 for cancer charities. Charles Dale -Welsh
soap opera actor who has appeared in Coronation Street,
The Rocket Man, The Bill, Steel River Blues and Casualty.
Andrew Green - Writer and Broadcaster who has
appeared on BBC Radio 3, 4 and the BBC World Service.
Umpire: Milton Johns - Well trodden actor he has
appeared in numerous TV roles including Coronation
Street, Poldark, Born and Bred, Dempsey and Makepeace, Yes
Minister as well as appearing in worldwide blockbuster
Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. |
