'Akbar the main attraction'

The Queen recently visited Legoland to promote tourism, however
she missed another attraction right on her doorstep - Windsor Cricket Club.
If she had taken a stroll to the Home Park on Saturday, she would have seen
tourists being regally entertained by a local 17 year old - Zeeshan Akbar.
Batting first on a day made for stokeplay, Zeeshan made the most of a Baize
batting strip, coupled with a Ferrari outfield.
He has an impressive all round game which he exhibited on Saturday. His
gallery of strokes included a towering straight six ; a beguiling back foot
cover drive ; a cheeky sweep and several mid wicket flicks. Zeeshan
stroked a masterpiece of an innings in accumulating 104 out of a total of
206 - 6.
Hurst 2's were stifled in their quest to overhaul Windsor's
total, as the wiggle ball was launched with devastating accuracy by Andy
Wigley. Wigley picked up a wicket with his first delivery and captured
five victims, all clean bowled. Hurst were indebted to the durability of
opener Terry Hall who hit a responsible 52 whilst the wickets tumbled at
the other end. Long after the tourists had departed, the game reached an
unsatisfactory conclusion as Hurst finished on 152 - 8.
The game finished at 8.35 pm, 7 hours after it commenced. This is
something that the league needs to consider as the lifeblood of the game -
the youngsters - are going to turn their back on playing a game that lasts
7 hours without a winner.
