Marlow Park 3rd XI vs Windsor 4th XI - Saturday 22nd May

Marlow Park 68 All Out H.Singh 3-17

Windsor 69 for 7 O.Sabberton 18

An awesome display of bowling and fielding was the catalyst for Windsor 4’s opening league win on Saturday. Windsor captain Charles Light won the toss and put opponents Marlow Park into bat, a decision proved right as their opponents were brushed away for a meagre 68. Harvey Singh was the pick of the Windsor bowlers with figures of 3/17 off of ten impressive overs of away swing bowling. In fact in partnership with Scott Martin they restricted Marlow Park to just 30 runs from the opening 18 overs. It was this pressure that allowed change bowlers Ben Lewis (2/22) and Jay Bannerjee (2-11) to clean up the middle order and tail.

In response to the small target Windsor changed around the first choice batting order, with Aussie run machine Scott Martin down to bat at number 10!

After a few fours to the boundary by the openers, vice-captain Gegg was the first to depart for 5 mis-timing the in swing from left arm opener Hatch. Apart from middle order batsman Ollie Sabberton no other batsman got past 15, and Windsor stuttered to victory with the loss of seven disappointing wickets.
