Windsor 4th XI vs Marlow 3rd X1 - Saturday 12th June

Marlow 148 all out A.Saunders 45, S.Martin 4-30, C.Bristow 3-38

Windsor 151 for 7 J.Holmes 34no, N.Saunders 4-49

Windsor 4’s climbed up to second place in the table following an impressive win over previously unbeaten Marlow 3’s. Stand in skipper Michael Gegg won the toss and put Marlow into bat on a 'bowl first' wicket. Lines and Saunders got the visitors off to a great start reaching 100 from the opening 20 overs for the loss of only one wicket.Gegg then introduced the spin of Scott Martin to the attack, and rotated his seam attack of Ollie Birch, Ben Lewis and Colin Bristow at the other end, the tactics paid off as the next 29 overs went for just 48 runs and more importantly 9 wickets were taken. Scott Martin was the pick of the bowlers taking 4-30 from his 15 over spell.

Chasing 149 for victory, all the Windsor batsman got themselves a start but no one really went that next step and wickets fell, apart from the solid Johnathon Holmes. The 15 year old colt came to the crease and his impressive 34 not out, guided Windsor home to 20 well deserved points.
