AboutWindsor Cricket Club
Windsor Cricket Club was formed in 1995 as a merger between great rivals
Windsor Victoria and Windsor and Eton Cricket Clubs. This makes Windsor one of
the newest, brightest cricket clubs around but still maintaining a rich history
inherited from the two previous clubs.
The club plays it's home games at the Home Park in Windsor (Click here for
directions). With the world famous Windsor Castle in the background this surely
must be one of the most scenic cricket grounds in the country. The club also has
another royal connection as HRH Prince Phillip is the patron.
On a Saturday the club runs 4 teams in the Thames Valley League. Two teams run
on a Sunday in league competition in the Maidenhead Advertiser Sunday League.
Free weekends permitting the side play friendly fixtures against other local
teams as well as entering midweek competitions throughout the summer. The club
also runs a number of Colts teams known as The Windsor Sharks from under 11's up
to under 17's so there is a place at Windsor for all ages, and abilities!
It's not just cricket on offer down at Windsor the club also has a vibrant
social side with a number of social events taking place throughout the year.
Aside from the organised events the presence of a number of young players makes
for some interesting, if a little messy, Saturday nights. We have also
undertaken cricket tours to Australia, Holland, Ireland and throughout the UK as
well as taking part in cricket festivals and hosting touring sides thanks to our
splendid location.
Our season also doesn't stop in the winter. Our bar is open all year around
showing all the latest sporting action from around the world.
