Review of the 2009 season
Under 15
Having started the season coming third in the Surrey Winter Indoor Competition, only losing to the eventual winners, the team ended by losing to Slough in the league play offs.
A disappointing end to our competitive season having reached the finals day, in the Berkshire Cup, winning our West Surrey and Berkshire Divisions, both by wide margins.
Our outdoor campaign started well by winning the Inagural Camberley Six A Side Tournament going through the competition undefeated in icy cold conditions.
The game against County was a good experience and one that we would have tried to repeat in subsequent years had the boys not entered seniors.
Most significant win of the season was a hard fought game against Thatcham Town away, who fielded five Hampshire County players. The U15's restricting their hosts (who regularly scored 200+) to a score of 107 and then winning by seven wickets. Strong umpiring was needed and we were not let down by Rick .
Mark & I appreciate all the support received from the club during the season, in particular to Alex & Wes (coaching), James Jordan and Geoff Francis (umpiring) and especially Rick & Jacky Baumgartner (umpiring, coaching and away picnic's),
To all those parents thinking of getting involved with a colts team in the coming seasons I wish to say that despite the time pressures the rewards are very satisfying and well worth the investment.
Windsor should be very proud of those involved in the current U15 team and have every reason to expect great things from them in the future with the right support and quality coaching.
